Jets flying high after they zoom to early season win

There was no such good fortune for the ladies side that hosted Edinburgh Jets in their second League1 game.  With only 5 home national players between both sides on the court there was a cosmopolitan atmosphere in the game.  The Jets side were powerful and had control of the game from the first whistle.  They raced to a 6/2 lead with powerful serving and dominated the game to pull ahead 17/9.  Dundee’s points were coming from Hannah Lawrie and debutant, Laura Ward, but there were not enough as Jets racked up points in counter attack to take the first set 25/13.

A run of serves from the Jets captain gave them an 11/0 lead in the second set and with little chance to get back into the set, the visitors raced through to win 25/12.  The home side put up sterner resistance in the third set, but it was the Jets service that was the dominant factor again.  Lawrie and Ward were once more the main scorers but points were difficult to accumulate as Jets took the set 25/14 with powerful and accurate serving which limited the attacking chances for the Dundee side.
