Comfortable cup win in round 2 for men

Both Dundee sides were on Scottish Cup duty with two difficult ties. The men travelled to Coatbridge to take on League One side Forza Ragazzi. This game has history with many close and very long matches, but it was Dundee who came out on top this time!

Both sides traded points in the first set and Dundee took the first lead at 17/14 with Tony Gadzhev and Mike Coward both scoring well. Dundee maintained the 3-point advantage with Rad Marinov and Javier Suquia both closing out the home attack to win the set 25/22.

A change of line-up from coach Doug Crockart saw Michal Kowalski join the action as the diagonal hitter and had an immediate effect. His hitting and the service of Mike Coward took Dundee to 20/14 then Gadzhev and Oz Dowie finished off the set 25/18.

Lewis Goor joined the action replacing setter Dave Bonnar with Lewis Crockart returning as the diagonal attacker. The visitors won 4 points from the Crockart service and 3 when Dowie was at the service line. Forza were having difficulty hitting the floor and 3 more runs of points gave Dundee the set 25/12 and the game 3/0.
