City of Edinburgh provided the opposition last Saturday (08 December) when their second teams visited Craigie High School for National League 1 games.  The ladies were up against a very young and inexperienced side and quickly took a 14/6 lead with Natalia Stopowska and Arianna Scarponi both scoring 5 points each.  The young visitors came back briefly but the home side won the set comfortably, 25/16.  The service of Sacha Tissot started the second set and with more hits from Stopowska, Dundee had an 11/3 lead.  Carol Lane then added to the tally with a run of points from her service to take a 19/5 lead.  Claire Pollock and Agnes Bednarek then finished off the set with 4 quick scores to win 25/9.

The Edinburgh side made a spirited fightback in the third set and kept the score close until 12/15.  Stopowska and Bednarek both scored points then 3 errors in a row finished the game with Dundee securing the 3/0 win taking the set 25/17.
